Ensuring access to public health information

and services in south central Missouri

Services

Services

Local public health departments and their partners ensure public information and access to public health services for all south central Missouri residents.

Health Literacy

At times we all struggle to understand health information. When we work together to communicate clearly using simple language, we can ensure everyone understands important health information.

Care Coordination

Public health departments work with partners to create the conditions in which people can be healthy. When we all work together, we can help to make sure people receive the care they need.

Chronic Disease Management

You can help control chronic diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease. Eat nutritious foods, stay active, and follow advice from your doctor.

Community Health Assessment

In 2019, more than 1,000 people in south central Missouri communities answered a survey to help local public health departments decide what health issues to focus on for the next five years.

Diabetes Management

Understand your risk for diabetes. Learn about different types of diabetes and eating plans and exercise that will help you lower your risk for diabetes, or manage  your diabetes.

Healthy Eyes

Eye health is important, but some people may not realize they have poor eyesight or eye disease. Eye diseases are common and usually don't have any symptoms. That is why regular eye exams are important.

Healthy Teeth

By brushing your teeth twice a day, flossing, and using mouthwash to get rid of bacteria, you can keep your mouth healthy and lower your risk for certain diseases. A healthy mouth protects your overall health.

Lower Stress and Blood Pressure

High blood pressure and high stress levels over time can harm your body. Learn how to lower your blood pressure and your stress level by eating healthy, staying active, and getting plenty of sleep.
